A new seasonal fast ferry line called Kvarner Bridge began operating on 24 June 2026, linking Kraljevica, Crikvenica, Senj, Baška on Krk, Lopar and Rab, and Lun on Pag. For visitors, the useful part is simple: it adds a sea route across the northern Adriatic at the moment summer road traffic is getting heavier.

What changed

Croatia’s Ministry of Sea, Transport and Infrastructure marked the start of the line in Crikvenica, with the service operated by Jadrolinija’s catamaran Silba. Croatia Week reports that the seasonal route runs until 30 August, starting four mornings per week from Kraljevica with return departures from Rab; from 10 July, it is due to move to a daily peak-season schedule.

The line connects several places that are awkward to combine by road in one day: the Crikvenica Riviera, Senj, Baška on Krk, Lopar and Rab, plus Lun on Pag. Tickets are sold onboard and through Jadrolinija’s website and app.

Why it matters for travellers

The tourist angle is practical, not just ceremonial. Kvarner summer roads can be slow, especially around Krk, Crikvenica and island ferry approaches. A passenger catamaran gives visitors another way to plan day trips or short hops without putting a car in the queue.

Factcheck

The route, launch date, operator and itinerary are confirmed by the ministry statement dated 24 June 2026 and by Croatia Week’s same-year coverage. Prices and timetables are operational details, so travellers should verify the live schedule with Jadrolinija before leaving for the port.
